    Just watched it on the news. What a magnificent turnout. Brought a tear to the eye listening to Mr Foulds story . Stories like this restore your faith in human nature.

    I think where his regret comes in, is that the US Air crew were waving him and his
    mates to get out of the way. At the time, the boys in the park didn't realise that.
    What he's agonised about all these years is, if they had moved, might the aircraft
    have been able to crash land on the softer parkland ground thus saving some or all of the
    lives of the crew members.?

    I could be wrong but I thought I heard him tell Toby foster a few weeks (maybe longer) ago that him and his friends knew why they were waving when they did a go around but chose not to move anyway which was why he felt guilty.

    According to the article I read in the Mirror, the lads didn't realise until some time later,
    they were being waived out of the way, which meant the plane crashed into
    some nearby trees with tragic consequences.

    Thanks for the explanation but it still seems as though they had unnecessary guilt through their lives.
