I'm still hyperventilating after paying £2.50 from the bottom of Ardsley Hill up into Darfield. I took the car in for repair and haven't paid bus fare for donkey's years, hence the shock.
The joys of being an old giffer with a bus pass. Better still a senior railcard Elsecar to Leeds £5.80 return.
We have the same issue here..... https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news...ally-relationship-bus-companies-must-17476053 Tacky buses, unreliable and miserable drivers. It is cheaper for a lot of people to catch a taxi, especially if there is a few of you. Public transport prices on top of cancellations and delays is putting cars back on the roads.
i recently copped for a free month travel card, could be used on absolutely any s'yorks public transport, didn't use to it's full potential but it took the worry out of sticking to 1 pint mind, money i saved was lost on me getting pi$$ed more plus i got a black eye when a taxi driver insisted he wasn't public transport ;-)
Scandalous prices for what it is Me misses and 3 kids went into town on bus from Royston when car was in garage best part of 9 quid return and took best part of half hour
compare it to coach travel to away matches. £13 to Crewe and back is a friggin bargain. it costs £5 one way into town in a taxi and the driver usually stinks of B O .
got to crewe & back 2 adults n 1 kid for under £22 due to all the delays & cancellations and i didn't bother claiming for the **** up in tarn 1st off, and still was only 15 mins later arriving and even an hour earlier than planned home ;-)
It's not monthly though. it's 28 days. It really pisses me off that. I get paid monthly not 28 daily. And where's the tram in Barnsley?
