Anyone who goes to indie/alt gigs or festivals will probably know, have seen, or spoken to ‘Big Jeff’ Johns at some point.

News today he’s been badly injured in a house fire. Critical but stable in Swansea burns unit.

An absolute legend on the indie/alt gig & festival world. Terrible news. Hope he pulls through.

    Big love, Jeff x

I've come across him DJing these types of festivals. Was always straight up & very decent to talk to. Not like a lot of managers & promoters that do this type of music, that largely treat DJs like **it. Hope he's OK.

Very sad, i hope he makes a full recovery. I've been to a lot of gigs in Bristol over the years in all manner of venues (from dive bars to gigs on boats, to back rooms in pubs, to the O2) and I can't remember a gig when Big Jeff wasn't there, often air drumming on the ceiling. Bands have sometimes engaged with him (some may have known who he was prior to the gig, but I think some didn't and just liked his enthusiasm that he brought). I've seen him dj in the local record shop too, he's highly thought of and respected in Bristol, and his commitment to gig-going and music generally is unrivalled (in my experience). Get well soon Big Jeff.
