I honestly saw an old guy at midday walking down Dodworth Rd -
Trousers, shirt, overcoat and woollen flat cap.

He once sat next to me on a 26 hour flight. Fun times.

I remember seeing a goth who'd been hanging out all day on the steps of Sheffield City Hall getting carted into an ambulance after passing out during a heatwave. Entirely predictable.

Just for a bit of balance, there is a guy in his 60's in my area of St Petersburg who only ever wears shorts and a Hawaiian shirt, no matter what the weather. He looks as fit as an ox, so maybe it's something we should all be considering!

I could tell it was hot yesterday my teenage son went out without a hoody on, unprecedented times.

There was a tendency back in the day for female goths to wear wedding dresses in really hot weather - the nice white material was cooler than black - but at least one I know ended up ruining her mothers wedding dress as it got wet when she packed it away and it ended up mouldy!

About 30 years ago no one ever wore a jacket or coat. Remember going on Wellington Street freezing my nackers off with 6 inches of snow on the ground with me and my mates wearing only flimsy shirts ,(vests weren't allowed).

Ahh those were the days - when everyone was expected to wear as little as possible.
I once got told I couldn't enter the Bel Air Nightclub at the Belfry, because I had a blazer jacket on. I pointed out to the bouncer that there were several men in the club already with jackets on. He just shrugged and told me I could go in if I took my jacket off, (i.e. in the vest top I had on underneath).

Me and Laura stripped off and went in Georges paddling pool for an hour to cool off. I had my jellyfish swim shorts on. That got us in the mood for a spot of nookie.
