    My 'three apeth'.....IMO I agree wholeheartedly with the content of the open letter above arguing that, whilst these issues rightly needed to be brought 'into the light', by stifling debate and closing down discussion and using tactics of 'naming and shaming', creating fear and uncertainty, paralysing businesses and political leaders, it has resulted in gross overreactions due to fear of reprisals, unfair and unjust dismissals and other sanctions.
    Removing statues and renaming buildings thus deleting history, however unpalatable, is one small step away from burning and banning books. As someone succinctly put it...... History belongs to everyone. No one individual or group has the right to decide what is kept and what is deleted.
