Just had another good news story pop up notification on my phone..

Englands Chief Medical Officer says resistance to antibiotics will kill us all before climate change..

Does that mean we can bring back plastic straws?

Seriously though, I don't think it will be long until we get some resistant strain that kills massive amounts of people due to this reason. Quite scary really.

More likely to happen than a cultural revolution away from a consumer led society.
    The world needs fewer people.

I wonder in the future, if we are all forced to become more utilitarian and less frivolous with our spending to save the planet - fewer luxury items, not buying disposable fashion items and much less travelling and holidays - what are we going to spend our money on? Or will we all be working part-time because there is no consumerist culture anymore as the real value of holding money has decreased.

Is that an episode of Black Mirror? I haven't seen them all yet.

A virus which kills it's host will have nowhere to go if it kills us all off. Effectively it kills itself off. People survived terrible infections before we started using antibiotics. You can see the evidence in the l skeletons of Medieval Knights who have been injured in battle and made full recovery.

This is probably going to go very wrong at some stage if we keep meddling with things we only half understanding.

Scientists are also playing with extinct plague viruses from Egyptian rocks or something. Might be wrong. It's along them lines. If that breaks quarantine it will be like something off a sci-fi horror film.

There are some things they should leave well alone.
