I used to love this little console back in the early 2000s. Some great games for it and I fancied picking one up for nostalgia/game night with the other half reasons. I figured I'd be able to pick one up for next to nowt. Wrong. The consoles in decent nick with a couple of working controllers/accessories etc are going for £50+. Some of the individual games I used to love (and scratched the hell out of because I was a kid) are £50... each. Just a heads up if you've got one sat in a cupboard somewhere. You can make a couple of quick pennies from them, although I'm guessing now they'll only appreciate with time.
My favourite console ever with some fantastic games - sold about 10 of my games for about 120 pound last time. I wasn't a kid either lol - Resident Evil 4 and Mario Kart Double Dash are some of my favourite ever games
I was reading about that today. Mind blowing, the amounts that collectors are willing to pay for stuff that most of us wouldn't give tuppence for. I dread to think what we've chucked away over the years that might now be worth a bob or two.
I've just started playing the PS2 again, and if you're anything like me, and just like picking it up and then putting it down every now and again, get yourself to Retrodome in town. They've a gamecube (or maybe two) and if they've not got the game out that you want to play, ask at the bar and they'll have a look in the back office for you. Old consoles are going up in value because of false promises that new consoles would be backwards compatible.
