Newcastle's under 23s were beaten by Harrogate 2-1, and their FIRST TEAM were beaten 1-0 by York, who are in the 6th tier these days.

Newcastle always seem to have some odd friendly results. They lost 6-0 to Sunderland in 2016. I vaguely recall them losing to a league 2 side quite heavily circa 2012 as well.

Leyton Orient butchered them one pre-season, I remember.

That's the one I was thinking of. 6-1 to Orient.

A dilemma of a club. Big fan base ,Big potential, but never seem to win owt, unless you`re old enough to remember the Fairs Cup victory in 69.

Bonkers isn't it? One of the largest fanbases and one of the richest men in the UK is their owner, yet they barely register on the world football radar... Bit like dem massives down the road.

They did and I think Newcastle then went on to win the championship title!

The potential of that football club is insane. A proper sleeping giant. No surprise Staveley and co are trying to get their hands on it.
