An oxmoron if ever there was one

It seems the government is planning to introduce a new petrol containing more bioethanol called E10 next year
the current standard unleaded currently contains 5%

It is lower octane so your car performance will suffer slightly and your mpg will increase slightly - I hope the saving in C02 outweighs the MPG penalty.
If you are driving an older petrol engined car - (more than 10 years old) you might have a problem to use it

For a list of affected cars there is a list that should appy in the UK as we were part of the EU when it was produced

Good news, my Dacia will run on it. Already does about 60 odd to the gallon...

Doesnt affect me as I am driving one of those horrid Diesels (though its a Euro 6 so not too bad)
My Mrs may have a problem with her 17 year old Mazda 6 though - looks like its the model too early
