....I'm seriously thinking of calling the box office tomorrow and asking for a partial refund on my season ticket. Because of my dual country living arrangements I knew I was going to miss a lot of games but I am now so disheartened with things that I'm not sure I will be making the effort to travel 50 miles each way when I get back to the UK (the day of the West Brom match). Of the ten home games this season I have only seen five, yet (foolishly, I know) I haven't missed a game home or away thanks to iFollow and a couple on Sky. So I am paying over the odds for my ticket due to iFollow match day passes. So, do I have a case for a partial refund if I say I don't know how many more games I can get to? Every match day I've been lulled into a false sense of hope and expectation thinking that today, SURELY, we will win the match. I saw the Coventry one which we got away with, admittedly, and I saw the Derby one on iFollow which was just about deserved. The rest? Not much to get excited about is there? I know from bitter experience that we are an up and down club and the great times are far outweighed by the really bad times, with a few average seasons thrown in. I'm not one for knee-jerk reactions, like some, but I'm losing my faith in a club I have followed since 1962. That's a whole bunch of disappointment right there (as Mr Conway might say if he was in my position). Come Saturday I might be up and ready for it again, and dutifully pay my €11 to watch the match but how long can this madness go on? Tonight was just about the worst they've played all season, in all departments, and there has been plenty of competition for that accolade. The team in black just played around us because we were, mostly, statues. Then, on the rare occasions we ran forward with the ball a cynical foul took the sting out of the attack. I can't stand watching much more of this kind of opposition. Cynical play is something we seem to have never mastered, yet we let most other teams do it to us. It's soul-destroying to watch and, bad as he was, we can't blame the referee for losing tonight. The players in red did all of that to themselves and I just don't see a way past 25 points this season. Maybe not even that many.....
