I'm sure we will all be a bit edgy on Saturday... You could feel it vs Coventry! The club have got the giant flags at home now and I'm sure other things are in the pipeline but it's got me thinking what can we do away from home to give the team a boost other than turn up in our numbers? I used to love seeing the confetti go up as the players ran out and streams of what looked like toilet roll and you don't really see it now... Anyone got any red and white confetti or the old flag that used to go across the stand? We can make a huge difference and push the lads on and into second place.
A little frustrating, yes, but we'd have all snapped the league's hand off if they'd offered us a play-off place back in August. Have we ever lost a play-off semi-final? 'Nowt to fear at Wembley.
What? Even if someone had offered them as a given back in August?? Would prefer automatic, obviously, but I think back to 2006 and 2016 and what an absolute buzz that was. We won't talk about 2000, although even that was a reight day out - suppin' round London for about 3 days and our first visit to the Twin Towers. We were happier than the Ipswich fans afterwards - kept telling them to cheer up as they trudged past our bus stop.
Absolutely. I expected us to sail through this League. Play offs were an absolute minimum. As it’s turned out if we now don’t do it through the top two we are going to be very flat and I would not fancy us in the play offf. Instead of us ‘buzzing’ as you rightly suggest we were previously, we will be the poor buggers who cocked up at the death. History doesn’t treat those play off contenders very well.
Dear oh dear, those same ‘fannies’ that have kept us there all season and played mostly good football with good number of goals to as well?
I’ve been watching a team giving their all game after game. Sometimes we haven’t had it all our own way, but it’s never been for the want of trying. Thought we played well on Saturday in an entertaining game and got punished by a mixture of bad luck and poor defending. What about all season not just recently, we didn’t simply magic our way into second place?
On the whole we have surpassed results the second time we pjay a team. The only thing better than a goalless draw is a win. Keep the faith!
I'd like to thank everyone of our players for giving 100% in every game. They aren't perfect but given some of the sides we have seen down the years it's a pleasure to see the commitment from this group. I disagree with some or our transfer policy but I don't blame the players we have here for that.
They've been great this season, they ve battled when necessary and played some superb football . Their manager continually says he's proud of their efforts and I agree.
Dear me Stephen, try not to drink so much eh? It makes you look like a dork. And as for the last 8 games I've been watching an undefeated team give everything they've got and more besides. If you can't appreciate that then go back to your Lego.
Every game from now is squeaky bum time for me. We're a little off the boil but we're giving 100%, still on a good unbeaten run and keeping our style. Let's face it - any team that overtakes us will deserve it and that's the way it is.
