He has an history of being injury prone, seems to be one those that we won’t get much playing time out of.
Be interesting to know total minutes played by all January window signings, just to prove what a shambles and total waste of time it was. No way would the board be able to defend Sormaz if these stats were produced. That window was supposed to be the boost to our play off chances haha.
I don't think injuries can be helped too much. It's easy to say don't sign a player with a history of injuries, but I guess until they get on the grass, there's no way of knowing whether they'll make it through a 46 game season or not realistically. Anyway, between them they've played 1229 minutes, with almost half of those being Farrugia: Neil Farrugia - 503 Joe Gauci - 345 Clement Rodriguez - 167 Dexter Lembikisa - 162 Jon Lewis - 52
George Gent has ruptured his Achilles tendon. I've done the same thing - albeit a few weeks earlier than him. I'm hoping to be able to play golf at the end of June if I'm lucky. He'll be out till well into next season.
I watched the documentary recently on the ballet dancer Stephen McRae. He had a ruptured Achilles. His physio was saying a footballer can recover in six months but a ballet dance it will be twelve months recovery. This documentary is well worth a watch not necessarily for the ballet dancing but from the fitness programme. The athleticism of the guy is off the scale and surpasses most professional sportsmen and women.
Did mine 15 years ago, never the same again, even after physio etc total time including physio was 7 months, just getting walking again heal then toe takes some doing. Lost alot of stretch/elasticity on that side and very flat footed especially in a morning. Good luck
2 injuries before joining us. Dislocated collar bone which needed surgery and hamstring in 20/21 hardly injury prone.
According to Wikipedia his first few seasons were “blighted by injury”, he is another Benson in the making for me pal.
The injury that is referred to was a t-junction tear which apparently is hard to spot on scans- https://www.irishmirror.ie/sport/soccer/soccer-news/neil-farrugia-reveals-how-harry-25324291 Since this injury has been resolved and i would say a collarbone injury due to a challenge doesnt really deem him as injury prone
