There is something rather ironic about that isn’t there.

I would imagine that it definitely will FR. The members of the "inner circle" have all been in close contact with each
other in Cabinet Briefing Office A as recent as Monday to discuss their collective strategy regarding the spread of
the virus. Just been reading that Ms Dorries is to self isolate for two weeks, so you would imagine that those who
were in closest proximity to her might be advised to do the same.

I attended a series of meetings in that very building in 2008. On arrival there are flasks of tea and coffee and plates
of biscuits which everyone is invited to share. In using the toilets, you can't avoid touching the same surfaces as the
other delegates. Lunch is usually a cold buffet and again, those attending, tend to congregate in informal groups to
chat before completing the days business.

If the COBRA meetings operate on similar lines, I would imagine that the MP's who were chatting Ms Dorries, will have
to take the necessary action to ensure that they don't infect others, if in fact, they too have contracted the virus.

One thing that is a bit strange in this story. It seems she first showed signs of being unwell on Friday yet she is said to be recovering - I thought it got worse for a period of a week or so - or is that only the more severe cases. As she is at home she is hopefully not one of the severe cases but I would be surprised if she is out again in a fortnight

That blows contact tracing completely out of the water. She will have rubbed shoulders with far too many people. It's also a bit surreal that a high profile health minister is among the first 300 and odd people in the country to catch it.

Nadine Dorris has now announced that her 84 year old mum has tested positive.

    Not good news at all.

I don’t share her politics at all but wouldn’t wish this on her & especially not on her 84 year old mum.

Hope she recovers. Nadine will be more worried about her mum than herself.

She's not. There's a difference between being in the first 300 people to catch it and the first 300 people to be diagnosed. At least 10,000 - 20,000 people have it

You do realise I made that comment four days ago before this was made clear? That was exactly what I was alluding to, that far more people had it than what was being announced.

The tangent Andrew Bridgen has gone on, blaming ND for risk of transmission is unhelpful and despicable. Firstly there has been no intent from ND to infect anyone nor would I deem her to be reckless. At this point in time it is incumbent on everyone to stick together. Similarly the xenophobia relating to China again brings out the worst in humanity. The majority of people will get infected and the vast majority will recover. It's life that someone else will unintentionally infect someone else. Let's look forward, be positive and protect our vulnerable relatives and friends
