He saw out his full contract and was part of a team that over-achieved expectations massively. That's as much as can be asked of a player in the current football environment. Disappointed to see him leave, but he goes with my best wishes and without any criticism on my part.
We did well to keep him for 4 years or whatever it was. There aren't that many players who stay that long at Oakwell. Good luck to him, he's earned a lucrative move.
greedy sod, treated like a hero here gone to probably play second fiddle to some non descript at west brom
Short career and like most will follow the money..did well for us and I for one wish him good fortune in the future... Sadly I think he will end up like Sammy the snake as a well paid bench warmer ...
Ahh yes. The chance to ensure me, the wife and the kids never have to worry about money again is nothing compared to staying in Barnsley and having someone occasionally buy me a pint in the boozer.
I think he'd push for a move then although I think he'd work hard enough to be a regular starter., he doesn't strike me as one who doesn't want to be involved.
I imagine he'll start for them. No way will Peirera stay, Snodgrass and Phillips are both knocking on or injury prone (written without checking their age tbf) and Maitland-Niles has gone back after his loan. He'll play imo.
