    Can we read anything into the fact that he played today? If his departure was imminent, his next club wouldn't want him cup-tied would they. Or is that wishful thinking on my part?

    I don’t think being cup tied makes that much difference in all honesty.

    I think he will stay, until at least the end of the season.

    The key question is whether it will be any longer than that, I really hope so. He offers so much to us and would be very difficult to replace.

    If he goes, it’ll be in the Summer purely down to a bigger signing-on fee and wages due to no transfer fee.

    By letting James go, the club has signalled that Mowatt will be staying in my eyes, as can’t let both go.

    Watch him now go to Blackburn tomorrow......

    I thought he was excellent today , in the first half when passes were going astray & players were charging about at 90 miles an hour , Mowatts time on the ball & the picking of a pass stood out like a beacon , he was easily the player on the pitch with the most quality

    Agree with a lot of that although I think Styles’ quality is equal to Mowatts.

    Yeah I agree. Would be a very bad window if we lose Mowatt in addition to James going back.

    Unless an incredible bid comes in for him, I can’t see him leaving this month.

    If he stays for the rest of the season then he has to sign a new contract or go.

    Cant let any player ss good as him go for free in these times

    He has his best years ahead of him, he will get better, we have paid him well and gave him the chance when others didnt want him. There were rumours about his attitude. He is worth £2m now, £5m with a couple of years of contract and potential to be £10m signing in a few years.

    Cant let him go for free, we have more than enough to stay up and not quite ready to go up, so sign up or go are my thoughts.

    I personally don't feel he owes us anything. He's been consistent no matter what league or league position. He took on the captain's mantle and has barely missed any matches. He apparently works hard in training and seems to do his outside of football duties well I just wish he'd sign
