Did anyone else see the irony in the pundits on MOTD last night appearing to complain about the number of changes made to the starting line ups of Premier League clubs? The programme was "anchored" by Gabby Logan and the pundits were Germaine Jenus and Dion Dublin.
Think he's drawing a parallel between premier clubs putting out their b teams and the BBC also putting out their b team, presenters wise
The point I am making is that for the normal Premier League MOTD the "anchor" is Lineker with Shearer and Murphy. The MOTD first team.
I’d rather watch Gabby Logan than Lineker to be fair, she’s just as good a presenter and much nicer to look at.
But it's the polar opposite of what PL teams do for the FA Cup. When the cup comes around, the BBC make sure the 'big guns' (Lineker, Shearer, Wright etc) do the big Cup shows (in this weekend's case, the live games from Liverpool and Arsenal) Jermaine, Dion, Alex etc are all regulars on our football output, so your argument is questionable at best.
I can only assume that some people have come to the conclusion that your post was misogynistic (female presenter) and racist (pundit wise). I got that this was solely pointing out that it was not the regular team. Or am I widely off the mark?
People do not have to agree with me or see the irony in the situation. I merely observed that what I consider to be second string presentation team appeared to be bemoaning the he fact that many Premier League teams pick a number of second string players in FA cup games.
But the BBC have picked their strongest studio line-ups for the FA Cup live games, so the actual opposite to what you're suggesting, no?
