It’s been cheapened with the introduction of the Prem u21s. To me it wouldn’t mean nowhere near as much as the competition back then.
But there's still all the sameclubs in it now as then. The u21 sides are an irrelevance but certainly don't make it any easier to win. How many trophies are in our cabinet?
Thanks Lil. But for some reason, watching that has set my hay fever off something rotten. Eyes streaming like a ba$tard.
I agree to an extent but the prem youth definitely ruin it. Imagine getting to final just for us to play Southampton u23s - many of which won't even be youth they'll be 30 odd year olds who need match fitness. I just think its a shame, premier league clubs get enough pampering. Still would love to win it though, especially against a league club!
I fully agree. I hate the fact they're in it and, at the very least, no under 23 side should be allowed to contest the final. It would be fantastic to see us win another trophy . I've only seen it once in my lifetime. My Dad never saw it in 65 years following the club. Another certainly wouldn't go amiss.
A visit nar an again darn Memory lane, helps you relive the past, Memories are always precious, C,O,Y,R.
I wouldn't worry about that, the u21s teams don't tend to get that far in the competition anyway. Man City's u21's got to the semi's a few years ago, but aside from that there's only ever been one u21s team make it as far as the quarter finals in each season.
