Just mentioned this in other thread. Few journalists saying Accrington want a “big” offer whatever that means.
I do not think so , he was released by the club & not sold to Accrington so there would have been no deal as such , unless I am mistaken.
No we def sold him and it’s been confirmed there is a sell on in the past. May have been a nominal fee and larger sell on, hence the 35%.
£1.25 million is an incredible amount given in the last 2 seasons at League 2 level he’s got 17 goals in 64 games (according to Wiki so could be bs). I get that a fair few of those games could possibly be sub appearances but still. He’s 24 too, not exactly young for a footballer. Hopefully it is true though and we get some additional money.
I stand corrected , good news in one respect but disappointing that we have let a championship class striker slip away without giving him more opportunities .
They can afford it with Waghorn off. Friend of the BBS Alan Nixon said this story in the Sunday Sun. We didn't deem him good enough, but this coming season he could be playing higher than us.
I don’t think we can knock the club. The lad wasn’t ready, wasn’t going to get a sniff here, so we let him drop down to L2, he’s performed well and now there’s interest in him. The worst thing for him, or us, would have been to leave him in the U23s for a couple of years getting no games or development. The only other option would have been to loan him out, but he wasn’t a young young kid. He’s 24 now so probably wanted a bit more stability. Glad it seems to have worked out for all parties.
He was never given a chance by PH,I imagine they fell out when Kayden kept saying he should be playing. I felt he should have been given more games, even over Stefan Payne. He certainly believed in his own ability to do well. But I know nothing of course.
If he goes for anything close to a million pounds then SURELY Bradshaw's value will be double, or treble, that as a minimum
I was thinking same I know players are only worth what people are willing to pay but if Jackson is worth 1.25million then what is Bradshaw worth!
Depends on a lot more than a players current ability. Bradshaw may want higher wages, so that would be built into the thought for any offer. Contract length remaining will be considered by the club as to asset value being released. And finally potential. Clubs will decide if Bradshaw can get any better than he currently is, or whether Jackson may just be a late developer. Also the type of player. Just like defenders or goalkeepers tend to go for less than strikers, a striker with Pace will often be valued higher than a tap in striker like Tom. I agree though that Bradshaw should be valued higher. Just depends what clubs see.
You are probably right but I thought there were opportunities for Hecky to have included the lad here & there to aid his development but they were never forthcoming, but I wish him well for the future
So they've managed to offload one carthorse to us and now they want to sign another. Wow. Absolutely the right decision by the club to get rid when they did. Never should have signed in the first place.
Can’t judge whether we made a mistake or not until he’s had at least a season with Ipswich, way too soon to be making judgements, all we know at the minute is he’s decent at league 2 level but even that’s took a while. Wasn’t he pretty useless at Grimsby on loan not so long ago?
Ipswich are a Championship side , why would they pay over a million for him if they did not think he could do a job , that kind of money is not for the development squad is it ?
I think Grimsby played him on the wing. Agree with you we don't know if he is good enough to play in the championship or even league one as yet. Omar boagle hasn't scored many since he left Grimsby. I know one think though I'm glad it's not us parting with 1.25million for him.
