Ashes in jeopardy if Australia don't relax their 'rules' on players families attending. Several players looking to pull out
Not sure why England can’t just split white ball / red ball squads to reduce the schedules. Or limit to two formats rather than three for any player.
Can't say I would want to go to Australia if I was a player. Also think it will be much poorer for no barmy army as well
If you're only doing tests like Broad and Anderson they you're still spending a sizeable chunk over Christmas and new year away from your loved ones. If Australia don't allow them to take family with them then I wouldn't blame anyone for pulling out even if it means we have to play the Ashes with the C side we put out in the summer against Pakistan.
I would love Rashid to be involved but if you think back to when they used to select him for overseas duty his main task was to carry the drinks , his treatment was very poor & maybe he has a long memory , if so I cannot blame him ,he is a wicket taker & should have been allowed the time in the side to continue his development , you do not gain experience watching from the sides & sadly I think we have missed out on his skills at test level.
Don't think he's interested in redball cricket any more, can't say i blame when he's so effective at white ball.
Can't see the tour happening. The upside being it will be a more tasty series next time they do meet. Separately, my daughter was due to study in Oz for 6 months from Feb, chance of a lifetime. Poor lass has worked her socks off all summer to fund it, and they have pulled the plug, 5 months in advance
He has only signed up for Yorkshire for white ball cricket. I do not believe his shoulder is up to the rigours of the longer forms of cricket any more. In addition there is plenty of money to be had in the various 20/20 franchises and the One Hundred circus.
In my opinion there is zero chance of Rashid ever playing a red ball game again. Also, it’s my opinion that the ashes this winter probably won’t go ahead. Too many top line England players will drop out and the whole thing will end up called off. Who’d want to watch a third rate England team get battered anyway?
I don't think there's any doubt who'll win the Ashes. It's a nice excuse for the players and the ECB. One they'd happily take after recent criticism. On the flip side I think it will be the end of mental health as an excuse the ECB will start picking players to tour who don't have as many commitments or baggage.
