Players tonight linking arms, what next the hoke coke. Then they kick, con and swear at each other for 90 mins.Never understood why they have to shake hands before the game,ok at the end if they want to.Just imagine Norman and Franny and Bowyer and Dyer etc linking arms.

Sounds like millwall want to show their solidarity against racism in a way that won’t offend their racist fans.

Yes, that was my take on it. What a lovely club they are.

I've no issue with players not taking the knee, as if it is mandatory it is not a genuine display of unity by the vast majority, which I do believe it is. I don't see how Millwall's proposal does anything positive though & appears to be caving in to a loud minority of their fans.

So they're backing down to appease their racist supporters? Then they're also racists. We'll never get rid of the problem whilst clubs and other establishments do things like this, to let them get away with their racist behaviour

Agreed. Colchester’s response was far better. They have basically said this is what we’re doing and why, don’t come if you don’t like it.

Correct. It isn't enough these days to be 'not-racist', you have to be 'anti-racist'.

I think Millwall are taking the 'not racist' approach by still having a show of unity despite the revolt from their own fans.

They need to take an 'anti-racist' approach to eradicate the problem. They need to take a stance that shows they will not tolerate anyone who isn't an advocate for equality.

It's a pretty cowardly approach by Millwall in my opinion. Caving in to the fans puts across the wrong message to them.

I think we're talking about the same thing mate. BUT Millwall Football Club are backing down, ducking the "REAL" issue here. They have racist supporters and rather than deal with the issue by banning them (or telling them not to turn up like Colchester for a refund) they are indeed tolerating racist behaviour. They would sooner have a few quid in their pocket and continue to tolerate racists than deal with the issue.

Well done Colchester Football Club for not taking the easy way out and dealing with the real issue. Millwall Football Club and their "supporters" need dealing with by the FA - severely

i believe QPR said they would take the knee tonight. i can only assume they have been requested by millwall to carry out a different action.

You would hope that if the Millwall morons repeat their disgusting tactics of the weekend the EFL will grow a pair and sanction them properly.

Different argument altogether but I suspect the clubs stance may be financial.

Regarding Colchester refunding season ticket holders with a different view point. I think it's foolhardy. I don't condone the behaviour. I just don't think it's up to clubs to be making the stand point. The governing body is getting away scot free here. The clubs are struggling along trying to find a best fit for all while the F.A and EFL hide behind rhetoric.

I agree with Les Ferdinand's stance on it.
