Comfortably mid table form. The question is, are there enough games left for us to keep up a mid-table points per game haul and catch up in time?

Win 6 out of the last 11 gets us to 42 points. We’d need Reading to lose 6 out of 10.

Derby have earned 45pts from 36 games but have been deducted 21pts. Extrapolating that form to 46 games would see them round the 37 points mark (58pts less 21 deducted). They might do better (or worse). Obvious need for The Reds to beat Peterborough and Reading and then see if we could get, ideally 10pts from the other 9 remaining games. Not impossible - but the nearest to 1pt-a-game we've been was after the first three games of the season.
I thought today was much worse than Saturday in performance terms. I'll continue to live in hope but, if I were a betting man, I'd back League One next season.....

It’s the hope that kills you!

We’ve thrown away 3 points in injury time in two of the last five games. Had we held on in those games things would be looking much more positive.

Unfortunately, I just think we’ve been too poor, too often this season and I can’t see a great escape this time. I hope I’m proven wrong.

I actually don't think we played that badly. Obviously we weren't barnstorming, but I didn't think we looked like a bottom 3 side. With the two excellent new additions (IMO) I don't think we are currently one of the worst 3 sides in the league. The problem is the damage that was done before we got them :(

Letting Derby have the three points seems to have signalled the end of our mini revival. Quina and Bassi desperate to get forward from the off last night, that's what was needed. Not saying to Stoke keep peppering our goal until you score! Just like we seemed to do at Derby.

I'm not sure we will beat Reading and Peterborough and after Boro I thought we should. Makes me wonder whether they were subconsciously saving themselves for the cup match and we got lucky given that they did score 2goals!

It’s do-able but we need to make sure before we play Reading that we are within two points of them and that Derby and Peterborough are still below us at that point. Unfortunately after last night, we need to get something against Fulham Saturday….which won’t happen.

Don't be so defeatist. Derby, like Coventry were bad performances. Last night wasn't great but I thought we were half decent until we scored. Fulham's a write off but we can regroup and go again v Bristol City.
