Looked like he was gonna get sacked soon so he probably would have had to step down a league, also Tranmere can probably offer more than Shrewsbury can and I think he's an ex Tranmere player so not that odd, maybe just the fact hes gone backwards two leagues
Whilst in hindsight, relegation was a blessing for us, I believe we'd have made a better fist of staying up had Mellon been given the rest of the season at least Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Didn't say there wasn't, I was commenting on the assertion by another poster that Tranmere could probably offer him more money. They're 2 leagues lower, get lower crowds and haven't had a pot to piss in for ages as far as I'm aware.
Tranmere are on their way up, back from the dead maybe. New owners/investment. Shews are going nowhere.
He's due a slice of luck to be fair. It's gone a bit sour for him since he left us, and although Tranmere might not be the peach of a job people expect him to take, he could berry well make it work. I believe he is moving closer to his daughter who is the apple of his eye, and the challenge of resurrecting a proud Merseyside club is getting his juices flowing. I understand he is looking to create something a little bit special with players Louis Almond & Andy Cook.
