Let’s hope the Jackson deal goes through soon too. Another few hundred grand into the bank.

Thought Swansea were holding out for £25-£30m but guess that’s the other price of relegation.

How long before someone asks if we've got a sell on fee and how much?

The spreadsheet will be more for unheard of foreign players such as Thiam. Most clubs wouldn't need a spreadsheet to know Mawson was doing well at Wycombe or Hourihane already a captain or Winnall banging them in at Scunny.

I doubt we will see any difference at Oakwell no matter how much we rake in.

The spreadsheet was used on winnall mawson Conor Roberts it based on stats the head coach had the final say on all those players. No doubt it was used on thiam also and I think We first took an interest in cavare when he played against us for Huddersfield he didn't get offered a deal we scouted further. The spreadsheet was used long before thiam and cavare rocked up.

    Winnall wasn’t.

Wilson spotted him (or his scout did)

Patrick didn’t want to sign him - he told me so himself.

I know we brought the spreadsheet system and the u25 recruitment policy after our last relegation under Wilson. Wilson wasn't keen on the idea and wanted some of his signings in like Turnbull lita and treacy I heard a few mention winnall but wasn't sure. Conor Roberts mawson scowen were all "spreadsheet" signings the then head coach just had the final say

I can see why the spreadsheet was used for Roberts as he was under the radar in non league. It shouldn't have been needed to know most of the early 'spreadsheet' signings were worth a punt on. Dougall is another the spreadsheet is perfect for.

I didn't think they tracked overseas leagues in the computer model they use and it is all about the Uk leagues.

No idea but it would be a surprise. You'd think just through reading media, word of mouth, and watching highlight shows it's fairly simple to see as a fan who you'd want your club to sign. But then because we aren't as clued up on foreign football, the spreadsheet would come in more handy.

Could just scout by looking at player stats on Championship Manager :D

They certainly didn't include overseas stats or scouting data in the system when I discussed it with Patrick back around the time we signed Hourihane using that system. That might have changed but the reason he said they didn't was from a resources point of view. Think he said they tracked all leagues down to the Evostick.
