Three years ago Laura won an academic achievement award at a ceremony held at Oakwell. Mark Speight was the one handing out all the awards and he came across as a very friendly, likeable young man. All the kids there thought he was great. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Very sad news.
Yep My eldest loves him on that art programme. What an absolute tragedy ... total waste of 2 young lives. RIP
RE: sad but actually....! a relief from the guilt he must feel for introducing a much younger person to cocaine and other garbage from which she later died. He was living and sharing a £ 500,000 flat and clearly enjoying a priviliged lifestyle. On the night she died he has given evidence that they had binged on cocaine and large quantities of alcohol and then taken sleeping tablets. At 42 you have to wonder why he wasn't perhaps a parent and acting in a less hedonistic self oriented way. According to newspaper reports (I know) he was a "party animal" and supplied cocaine etc to other party goers. I just don't understand why people need **** to get "high man". When people are struggling to get by and bring kids up in a cut throat dangerous world Mark Speight was probably shoveling thousands of pounds up his nose in order to achieve a chemical induced short lived high. Sad but...
RE: sad but actually....! You obviously know the full story, and lead a problem free life ! RIP Mark and look out for the Sheffield Caring Society !

Very Very Very Sad News A very talented man, who was excellent at his craft. Not many people could have an idea of just what exactly he was going through. I can't imagine losing the love of my life under the circumstances he did.
Never heard of him until all this kicked off Sad that anyone loses a life so early, but not surprising by the sounds of it. no relation by the way!
RE: sad but actually....! Was you there? I guess you was to state he introduced her to cocaine. She was old enough to know what she was doing and grown up enough to say no and make up her own mind. When she took cocaine, i'm sure it was because that's what SHE wanted to do. Some people are just not cut out to be a parent or even want to be one. I know a guy who's 50 and doesn't have any children. Infact he got the snip at 21 and was in the Guiness World Records book a few years back for it.
RE: Very Very Very Sad News I agree wholeheartedly with dreamboy..... poor bloke must have been tortured! To suffer what he has must have been *****! It looks like, on first impressions and purely my own opinion, that he felt anger/guilt/**** after the inquest relieved him of any undoing (?)
Me neither .. and I agree.
By the way, learn to spell separate properly. Your standards are slipping!
