Why did he run away from armed police and try and dive onto the train before they could get to him?! I can understand why they shot him, though of course it is unfortunate.
Ive read he was a Brazilian living in a 'multi occupancy' house. Probably had no visa or it had run out. Probably got spooked, ran and ended up having 5 bullets pumped into the back of his head.
Yes They believed he might have a bomb on him... they follow him... he runs off and tries to dive onto a tube train. It clearly looked to them like he was going to detonate a bomb on there and kill possibly dozens. If he was innocent you'd wonder why he'd run away from armed police.
RE: Yes The police had him under observation for a good amount of time before they started to chase him. Quite why if they thought he had a bomb they didn't stop him straight away is beyond me.
RE: Yes The fact he ran off probably convinced them that he had. But let's face it, we don't know what they were thinking do we? Of course it's sad that a guy has been killed... but if you run away from armed police who are clearly wanting to speak to you I'm afraid you are asking for it.
I suspect the information you've got that he ran away Is from the same source that yesterday said he had a bomb? Even if he did, we're told these police were not wearing uniforms. Who exactly did he think he was running away from? And it's not just the guilty that run. I've run away from the police. I was entirely innocent. The phrase "You're f*cking dead you *******" as he took out his truncheon made me suspect I might get a kicking. I decided I didn't want one so I out run him. I'm sure the police have a very difficult job under these circumstances, but such tactics seem more than a touch excessive to me.
I find it very hard to believe this shooting was so random. You're not telling me there are armed police in tube stations with instructions to shoot anyone swarthy looking who runs onto a train? The Police have said he was not connected to the previous botched attacks. But surely they must have had some intelligence which presented a damned convincing argument for the need to slaughter him in public? I do not buy the idea of "he ran off so we shot him".
I have no idea Probably 'cos I was a football fan and as such an animal. Watching fottball in the 80s was not always a whole lot of fun. Some policemen are superb. Others more certainly are not.
They'd had him under surveillance and followed him from his flat hadn't they? If he did have information, executing him seems like a very weird way of getting that info from him.
RE: I suspect the information you've got that he ran away There was one report I saw which suggested that he had wires coming out of his trousers, but ive not seen it since. I presume it was wrong. Press release says, Seems he only aroused suspicion because he came out of the same block of flats they were watching.
RE: Yes We dont even know they had their guns out when they first shouted to him, and they weren't wearing uniform so who knows what went through his mind when he decided to run. I was in Gleneagles taking pictures of the demo and I had to run away from riot police due to being caught up in the middle of some trouble. If a police man had shot me thinking I was a terrorist, would you justify it on the basis I shouldnt have run off?
good riddence then Sorry but if he was living here illegally then he should have had his balls ripped off first and then shot in the head. As should all illegal immigrants and foreigners living here without the proper paperwork. Send em back, we dont want them.
Apparently he came out of some flats which were under surveillance. If they thought he needed to be shot as he was so dangerous then why did they let him get to the station before doing anything?
maybe this scenario took place? They were following him to see where he was going. As he approached the train station they produced a police badge and a gun and shouted stop armed police, put your hands in the air. The bloke turned and ran TOWARDS and into a tube station, vaulting over a turnstyle. the police chased him, shouted to stop, he carried on running and actually boarded a tube train which has been the subject of SIX bombings in the last two weeks. the police shot him dead assuming that the man that has just ran into the tube station from a property that intelligence suggested was the centre of a terrorist organistation was maybe just maybe going to detonate another bomb on the tube? you run from the police into the tube and u get shot. tough ****, he knew that the police were armed, and he knew that running onto the tube was the most stupid place he could go.
