We’ve got the Josh Earl back from February/March time last year too! Stepping out from the back, strong & cutting out the daft mistakes.
They were all great tonight. Wilted a bit 2nd half against a poor Rovrum side. I think that sounds the death knell for Evans.
Yep he was brilliant tonight. His best game all season. Strange one Phillips being named player of the match in the ground. Could’ve thought of 5 or 6 I’d have picked over him.
Good team performance, no one player stood out for me. Daft booking for Luca though and means he’s out of Cambridge game next week.
Gent for me, excellent at both ends. Earl, Robbo, Connell and Phillips also had very good games. Everyone played their part though.
It's a strange one with Phillips. When he's not on the pitch it's very noticeable. But tonight I didn't notice what many others may have. Maybe at a guess I trust him so don't watch as much as others. Example, I think MDG has a mistake in him 2 or 3 times a game, so I focus on watching him more. Tonight he didn't. Same with Roberts. Not a single thing wrong. But I've said 2 or 3 times, Gent. I didn't make out to keep an eye on him. But the more the game wore on the more I found myself watching what an outstanding input he had on the game. Brilliant he was
His effortless 40 yard switches of play passes to Gent (2 of which were on the half volley) were a joy to behold - The kind of which you could easily be mistaken to be Trent, Stevie G or De Bruyne. There will be a few clubs sniffing around him in January
I think generally Phillips has quiet patches in games but then pops up with a goal or assist. Tonight he was involved and loved the switch to Gent, there were some pearlers in there. I like Phillips, I just thought there were a few others who caught the eye more tonight.
I thought man of the match could have gone to any of Connell, Earl, Gent or Phillips so arguments from me. Roberts was also really good when needed but I didn’t think he had enough to do to be considered.
I won't disagree at all mate. I think I will make a more conscious effort to see his game more often. I guess I'm guilty of waiting for that 25 yard piledriver more than anything tbh
I get your point but I genuinely think he feared what may have happened if they scored at the time it was, especially at home. Nerves would have skyrocketed. I said to me dad I think he did the right thing. Craig showed some fantastic stuff early on and personally I feel he plays better without connell and vise versa. Fingers crossed mate
