I know it’s too early to judge every loan player we have. However, which players of the loans would you be happy to sign at end of season if we can? I’d be happy to sign Harry Isted, Bobby Thomas and Ziyad Larkeche
big fan of isted, from what I've seen so far. not the biggest keeper in the world, but from what I've seen he's a good shot-stopper, has great ball distribution and looks very very confident coming out for crosses. I think collins could be under pressure tbh.
Had the same chat with my son earlier and said I Collins will find it difficult to get his place back. Is Isted out of contract at the end of this season?
Istead looks very promising. Good shot stopper, great distribution and commands his area well. There were a couple of instances today where he was out under pressure from a corner, and he confidently claimed the ball regardless. He looks a very good goalkeeper.
I like the way he catches the ball, but a lot of his kicks went either to their keeper, or out for a goal kick at the other end. Good keeper but needs to work on distribution.
Isted 100%, really, really good signing, same with Bobby Thomas. Looks class. Larkeche is a great back up for Cadden, though not sure he'd want to stay as back up? As for the rest, Martin I'd pass on, Tedic I'm not convinced by - though he's definitely shown glimpses, and Watters - too early to say
Tedic is an odd one for me. Bit crap at actually striking the ball, but his hold up play & link up play has been good at times (suppose a bit like Heskey/crouch was?), but he looks a bit lost at other times, Duff was having a right pop at him earlier when he went down really easily. City paid 3 million for him so you'd assume their scouts have seen him a lot more & has some good qualities about him, although they can just hoover up all the young talent and dispatch them when not good enough. But as I say, he has shown some great link up play at times. Wonder if he'd be better as a false 9/shadow striker or whatever the term is these days.
Isted possibly in the coming weeks. Today was the first time I have seen him properly tested with regular things to do and he did it well. Larkeche can't get much game time at this level, so I wouldn't fancy his chances of getting more when we get promoted
But we will still need back up. If he's willing to be that back up for either LB or RB it's a no brainer. We aren't going to be able to get a championship-standard player who's willing to sit on bench. I think, based on what we've seen, he'd be a perfect back up for us!
