Great game. 2-2 at half time. Courtois & Alisson, 2 of the very best goalkeepers in the world. Both made massive, massive errors resulting in a goal for the opposite team. We should remember this when Collins (was going to say Walton too, but he's left) makes a mistake. We have a great keeper in Collins, and it's looking like we actually have 2 with Isted, so let's get behind them even when they do look shaky at times, like Collins did (although lots of respect to him for playing with injuries) in the 2 games before Isted joined.
1st legs are normally tight affairs. Great game so far. And Marid have just banged another as I typed.
Real Madrid are schooling em……… 2 down, never panicked when most teams would have capitulated… Great game so far.
Imagine trying to win the champions league with gomez, milner and Harvey Elliott in your match day set up.
Only watched 2nd half. Oh Dear Liverpool it was as one sided as our first half at Cheltenham. Can’t see Liverpool getting close to overturning that when they go to Madrid
Tiny, tiny chance at 5-3 given their form this season. No chance at 5-2. They're ever luckier the away goal advantage doesn't count anymore!
Just seen this stat. Shows how meaningless some stats are From the BBC text commentary “Remarkably the stats were actually pretty even. Liverpool had 51.6% possession. Both sides had nine shots. Real edged efforts on target 6-5. On expected goals, the stat which shows how many goals you should score from your chances... Liverpool actually won 2.01 to 1.66.”
Was in our local bar "Garvi" last night having been to the pictures in Granada to see Banshees of Inisherin (good film if a little strange). Saw some of the second half and the noise each time Real scored was deafening. My ears are still ringing....
