..and I am sure Steven Dawson will have a field day with this thread.:)

Prompted by the fact I have just made an appointment at the hairdresser for me and my missus.....

What mechanism is it that lets head and facial hair grow continuously and unchecked will contine to grow to ridiculous lengths but yet I have never had to trim or cut pubic hair?

The same applies to.my missus'...ahem..'.lady garden'. This never seem to grow beyond a certain length even if 'trimmed'.

The same can be said of chest hair 0f which I used to have one called 'Tony' because my wife used to say "it was t'ony one I'd got!! " Ta-da Boom- Tish!! (The old ones are the best!!)

Speak for yourself. I've got more hair growing from my nose and ears than I have on my head.

Actually your head and facial hair won't just continue to grow. It just feels like it does. It has a growth cycle that can be years. When it reaches the end of its growth phase it does indeed stop growing. It's just that the vast majority of us cut it long before it reaches that length. For the minority who do just let it grow then for so e it will grow down to their arses or more because the growth stage can be 5 years but for others would be mid back because the growth stage only lasts 2 years.

The hair on your body is actually a different kind of hair completely and its growth stage is measured in weeks. When it gets to the end of its growth stage it stops growing.

So basically they both work in the same way but because they're different kind of hair they have different growth periods. One is weeks, one is years.

The one that's always confused me is eyelashes. If you pluck them or one comes out, which they do for all of us, then why haven't I ever noticed a tiny little stubbly eyelash growing to replace it?
