2 and a half years left on his Everton contract, so hopefully he'll go for an over inflated price despite not nailing down a regular place this season.

 

10% sell on clause in his contract maybe? A nice £10m fee would be very handy if so. In todays daft market it’ll likely be more than that to be honest.

Would be good if this happens now so that we can trust our more than competent head coach to spend the money wisely and bolster the squad for a promotion push. Sadly I'm not sure how much of it would be made available to him, given the state of the club's finances.

Significant on going financial interest. Think all sell ons at least in them days were 15%. We've probably had cash since for things like playing so many games.

 

All the money will be reinvested into the running of the club ......

If reports are true and we end up with a percentage of the sale then may I suggest we save that money to reinvest for our back to back promotions once in the championship lol

It's usually profit. But seeing as we only sold him for £2 million, I'd be hoping that the vast majority of any fee Everton receive will be profit.

 

We sold him for 500k he had 6 months remaining on his deal. Got a decent sell on though if I remember rightly.

 

It was more than that I thought. I don't remember how long he had left on his contract but because of his age he couldn't have left on a free anyway. We'd have been due compensation.

 

Which would have been a fixed amount with no add ons. Pretty sure we received 500k upfront with a decent sell on.

 

I thought it was reported at around a million or just over. Either way I thought they had our pants down, but a 7 figure sell on fee would definitely soften the blow!

 

Yeah fairly certain we got around a million. The amount of compensation due is dependent on a lot of things, how many times he played for us, age, length of contract we offered etc. We'd have received no compensation if we didn't offer him a contract. Ill bet my back knackers we got or were alot closer to a mill for him than 500k. Hopefully we get a nice wedge if he does move

Should make a million then if we only got two million. As a conservative figure for someone who can play multiple positions, is young, played lots of top flight football and in the panic market of January they should be getting ten million. 15% of 8 million profit is 1.2 million pounds.

That article says 500k upfront another 500k in add ons transfermarkt has it as 1.4 million fee. I expect its in between one of those.

 

Fair enough. A lot of the time they're just poking in the sky for a figure. And transfer fees are rarely just a straight cash sum.
