Just had a call from 01485 804321 telling me that my internet connection is being cancelled due to illegal activities. How long has posting on here been on the list then?
Have noticed most of my junk these days, the spammers have made the 'click here to unsubscribe' hyperlink one of the standout headers. The link itself is the 'bad' part of the email, so they are obviously hoping people click on the bright new unsubscribe link instead of just deleting or marking as junk mail. Be careful out there folks
I rarely answer unknown numbers, but today I did and it was a recorded message from the National Crime Office, advising me that my National Insurance number is being suspended due to illegal activity which... at that point I hung up. If I had the wherewithal I'd quite happily track these ******** down and make their lives a complete and utter misery.
I've had that one a few times. Don't think they listen though. I tell them to f**k off every time but they keep trying.
I often get the recorded message telling me I’ve purchased an iphone 7 on Amazon and …..(probably want my bank details). I just tell a recorded message what i think of this. The other day a person actually called me and went through the same speech, great chance to tell them what I think of it, unfortunately I got about 3 seconds and then hung up on. I really despise these organisations
Had the same problem a few weeks back, thankfully a Nigerian Prince sorted it for me. Only cost me 10k and the promise of one of my kidneys. Bargain!
I've had HMRC, Hermes, Post Office .......... all sorts. You can see why people are tricked by this .......... it is awful. Like others, I have the knowledge to tell them to do one. Vulnerable aren't that lucky. There is a God-awful new one starting out - barely publicised as they don't want to give folk ideas - and I can see why, which is why I won't go into detail here, but lets just say it preys on peoples worst fears and 9 times out of ten people are calling back, and being scammed big time.
I never answer no caller id. I don’t even answer unrecognised mobile numbers. If it’s important enough they will leave a message
problem is my Doctors always calls with no caller id I think there is another legitamate one that calls witholding the number as well and most of the crooks spoof numbers so its a real pain, especially when you do get a genuine call from a numer you dont instantly recognise. I find if you pick up but dont say anything most of the auto ones just disconnect. Had a near miss when a few days after renewing my TV licence I got an email telling me there was a problem with the payment and a link to try again. It looked really convincing at first glance, but on a more detailed look it was a scam so either they were very lucky with timing or had a way to find out when renewals were due and targeted them that way but that implies a data breach somewhere I think
When I get anything like this I always check the e-mail address from the sender. It's usually a private address that is in no way connected with the Subject of the e-mail. Scam calls tend to come from mobile numbers which is a dead giveaway!
On Facebook I get lots of friends requests from gorgeous twenty year old females. No idea why they all want to be my friend but I accept them all. I really don’t want to disappoint anyone.
Heres another scam say youll pay for something upfront then try to change it to installments stretching way into the future . I got that one from a business somewhere in the Midlands.
sure it’s not offering to nick your manager for an agreed amount then offering to pay it off at ten Bob a week?
