Ironic that it happens after a defeat at his beloved West Ham.

I wonder if the Hammers fans were singing "Sacked in the morning" to him?

Another of these ex players who keep getting jobs with no real qualifications to do them well. He'll no doubt walk into another one, somewhere.

I feel for the fella in respect of Everton are toxic at the moment, problems at that club long before Lampard took the job, I can't see any manager/coach saving them.

Dyche & Biesla linked. Dyche has a possibility of keeping them up, Biesla this season absolutely no chance with his football. Even if they do go down under Dyche I'd suggest they'd have an easy(ish) ride straight back up.

It seems likely that Dyche would be first choice … you’d think they have someone lined up potentially so my moneys on him

It couldn't have been timed better for Hammers fans that him losing to them got him sacked when he's Paul Ince and Millwank level of hatred with their fans.

Not sure about that, Moshiri is a wild card. It was only around a week ago he phoned in on talksport and said Frank had his complete backing....

Chairman's backing? That's usually a sign they are about to be sacked. Decent result against City bought him a little more time

And yet despite having a shocking record a number of the national press are defending him because he's a nice guy!

Aye the dreaded kiss of death … getting sacked plus a few million !

Might be a coincidence but Everton seem to have had a fair few English managers in the past even though they’ve not a great record in the Prem

Looks like Bielsa is bizarrely favourite , Dyche or big Duncan Ferguson or both would be the more obvious choice

As daft as it may sound, the worst thing they could do now is appoint a "good" manager. Those managers have philosophies which take time to implement and time is something they don't have. They need to get someone in who will kick the players up the arse, organise them to make them nasty and hard to beat and scrape enough narrow wins and 0-0 away draws against top half teams to survive. 4 4 ******* 2, six bookings a game, proper Brexit football.

Someone like Allardyce or even Warnock. Give them a contract until the last day of the season with a 7 figure survival bonus. Use the time until the end of the season to plan for both eventualities and identify suitable long term replacements. Finally, and most importantly, regardless of how much of a hero the manager becomes if they do keep them up, under no circumstances give them a longer contract.

Think their fans will be fuming if he returns! Surely it has to be Dyche. He will be able to gradually play better football too, something a lot of people don't give him credit for

They're absolutely knackered financially from years of mismanagement. Had to sell Richarlison last summer to balance the books, wasted the money on terrible replacements. Calvert Lewin ravaged by injuries.

When they go down I think it'll be a long struggle for them.

The West Ham game was billed as El Sackio with both Moyes and Lampard’s jobs on the line

They’ve been flirting with relegation for long enough but it would be a real shock when it finally happens. Remember they were one of our relegation rivals in 1998.

Their fans probably think they have a divine right to be in the top division for all time but this could be the season when their luck runs out.

Would be great playing Everton in the Championship. Think there's probably more chance of them going down than us going up though if I'm honest.
Pressure is really on whoever gets that gig. Best option for them is Sean Dyche I reckon.
