    He's played less than 40 games since he last played for us, 5 years ago. So I think it's difficult to say whether he'd be an improvement on the centre halves we currently have.

    One player that would be a massive improvement at the minute either side of Woodrow is another ex loanee, Adam Armstrong. With the form he’s been in and our formation that would be some addition.

    He’s done well when he’s got games. I’d have him back but can’t imagine he’s the right age for us & will be on wages we can afford

    I think we need to move on from players like Long and not over-romanticise about them because they played for us once. People used to do the same with Hammill after he'd left us a second time. Sometimes boats sail and it's better to just wave them off from the quayside and let them sail into the sunset.
    p.s. Personally I'd have Glavin back.......

    Haha fair enough though you was replying to the thread turning about Armstrong. Your right long wouldn't get in our defence. Hardly played last few seasons.
