Fat cat and Kelham island tavern are always good, then there’s places like Shakespeares which is on the outskirts of there

krynkl bar is also good, usually has Vedett on tap. It is a rooftop bar on the top of those restaurants in the shipping containers. Shakespeares is great, fantastic range of beers and old style long bench seating.

Gardner's rest also worth a visit. More trendy pubs/bars with your craft ales include sawgrinders union and old workshop. Old workshop usually has a good range. Pina is a Mexican place which shows sport upstairs but more focussed on cocktails than beer. As others mentioned kelham island tavern, fat cat and Shakespeare are three good pubs with good ales. Riverside is a true north owned pub with a large beer garden next to river. Would also recommend cutlery works for a bite to eat.

Don't give them your money and let them prosper.
