How are some people such horrible human beings and how are some companies so absolutely inept?

Basically a 15 year old girl (only had her birthday three weeks ago too so only just 15) lost her mum and a man, not a child, has been contacting her making comments such as "look at the state of you. There's no wonder your mum's dead", "you probably killed your mum with that squeeky voice" and "you try so hard because you know you're worthless. Your dad will be next then you will have no one".
She, or actually her dad, has blocked the person each time and reported them to Facebook. Every single time the report has come back as "we reviewed the comment and found it doesn't go against our community standards".

Today he has contacted them to say "block me as often as you want, I just make new accounts and you can't stop me. I'll never leave you alone. Your dad will be dead before I'm gone". The report to Facebook? "This comment doesn't go against our community standards"

What the actual ****? With things like this there should be a way to report Facebook to the police and as harsh as it sounds the penalty should be having their website closed down for an indefinite period until they can guarantee the safety of children.

I actually could not agree more with this.

If this doesn't go against their standards, I would have to ask whether they have any standards.

I know it's not what should happen, but the best thing for her to do would be to delete/suspend her Facebook account until things change. As long as she doesn't log in it will stay as though it's deleted.

Fb standards are a joke, a friend of mine got his post wishing everybody a happy St George's day removed but yet are more than happy to show children being abused, dogs behind burnt alive, and people involved in vile accidents, really dont get their mindset

She's a musician with a record contract so unfortunately had to use it. Well doesn't HAVE to but in reality does.
And I know he being a musician is most likely the reason that people feel the need to say such horrible things to her but i just don't understand it at all (the desire to say those to things or Facebook's response).

See my reply to redmonk. She uses Facebook for 'work' so can't do anything like that other than constantly blocking.

Facebook is appalling but so are some who post on there. In this example there shouldn't be any need for Facebook to intervene - no human being should want to behave in such a vile, abhorrent manner.

He's a coward and a vile insensitive bully who should be named, shamed and dealt with.

    Sometimes I hate the internet.

On the subject of Facebook.. Go into your settings scroll down to privacy blocking... Then type in either Facebook checker or fact checker both work (I used fact checker) ... And look what appears... You will be amazed who's secretly following you...Facebook checking your posts block at your leisure...both the wife and myself had 46 of the little ferkers attached to our accounts when we checked..
Saying that I've suspended my account temporarily .. Found I was spending too much time on there

I haven't got Facebook myself so today I used someone else's account to have a closer look. The man is 48!! I can sort of understand an idiot 18 19 year old doing it because they can be immature but at 48 nah. Good his mum's name and grassed him up.

Imagine the shame of being a 48 year old man who has someone tell his mum on him.

Social media is a far bigger threat to mankind than the Corona Virus
