So here's my two penneth..... Beaten by a better side today but did ourselves no favours on either goal.... First one we never got tight to stop the ball over and got punished by some good passing then on the second we've been done by good movement and another decent finish. The things that concern me most are the left back position while aidy is out and the strikers lack of movement and strength when they get the ball. Ryan Kent looked very lively when he came on and should start Tuesday in my opinion instead of winnal with Watkins going up front and Kent on the right. I know the I told you so crew will be out in force tonight over the defensive performance and lack of cutting edge up front but let's not panic we've played a very good side today and lost when on another day we could have ground out a draw with a bit more concentration in defence. I thought yiadom had a decent game and Armstrong was unlucky not to score. Big game Tuesday and I'm sure with the ponty roaring we can get a more positive result.
Dispite being second best in the first half could have gone in 1-1 if Winnall had put the header away. but saying that could easily have gone in 4-1 down
I was at the game and that's a fair summary of what it was like - and put more briefly than my own match report.
I thought their first goal was down to us fannying around at the other end. We had had a cross cleared and rather than putting the ball straight back in, we messed about, they cleared it to their right flank and broke very quickly. First time we've really been properly outplayed this season. First back to back defeats in 2016 and first time we haven't scored this season, so yesterday can really be considered a bad day at the office. . . . . . . But against a very good team.
