Just watched the clips on player and he looks very stones-ish. If true, yet another notch on our bed head of spotting young talent and growing it. I love our club.

He does look very composed. Lets see how he comes on. I think a loan signing is a bit odd though for the development squad. Maybe they want to have a closer look at him first before making him permanent.

I'm looking forward to seeing Jackson play as well.

I can only imagine that we're using it as some sort of a trial.

He's come from playing for Gijon's B side which is pretty much playing in the 4th division. And taken a loan deal to play in an English reserve league where the standard isn't likely to be as good.

I can only assume that he's not as far away from our first team as we all are led to believe.

Not trying to put a downer on your fred, but some do fall buy the wayside as well... ie The 3 mid-fielders from last season McCourt Harris and Khan. The striker who went to Solihull who's name escapes me, all been and gone, with no impact at all. Kaydon Jackson, Tuton and Moncur all loaned out, so not up to our first team grade.. Temporary or permanently only time will tell.

What we have is a scatter gun approach. Shoot enough bullets and some will hit the target, some won't..

He doesn't belong to us, just on loan. I think perhaps his parent club have sought us out, rather than we discovered him. They are expecting us to send back John Stones.. :)

Same as any club really, mate. We offer opportunities and take chances on unproven talent. But having a first team virtually composed of this policy is hardly scatter-gun. :)

Personally think we should've kept McCourt as we're short in central midfield, he's playing well for Northampton & he was a popular member of the squad.

As for Julio, I'd be confident there's a permanent deal already in place otherwise it seems a crazy decision to sign him

If we are scattering peanuts & bringing in gems in 1 in 5 cases we stand to do well.

That sums it up for me.

It's not a scatter gun approach at all. It's our extremely well thought out and well executed recruitment plan.

Buy a few players from lower leagues who have potential. If they work out then we've got great players (Roberts, Hourihane, Scowen etc etc) if not we recycle these to the lower leagues again (e.g. Luke Berry and the ones you mentioned. For some of these players we don't pay much for so we don't lose large amounts money if they don't work out.

Excellent strategy that were now seeing the huge benefits of.

Have we signed this player under the radar.I've never known development players do in depth interviews before. Maybe there's more to this signing than we know.

That`s what I was thinking, maybe they paid us a fee to have him here and train in our development squad as it produces good defenders. They get back a much better player than the one that left them.
