its totally funny and cute ..... however I just hope it does not trigger off a wave of visits to the vet for many animals if their owners think its a good idea to follow suit. The Foxes etc are obviously PCG but the dog is real. I love the add but am still a bit concerned it may have a few backfires along the lines I have said.
I've watched it a few times already and it is really funny each time. They are very clever with their advertising, befitting a quality organisation like the JLP. I am usually an adverts hater but productions like this are the exception. I record stuff that is on commercial channels deliberately so that I can fast forward through the breaks. I know the subliminal stuff is still there but I'm not stupid enough to fall for a product just because somebody tells me it is good. These Lewis adverts are just top class entertainment though. This year's is up there with the best.
Must be me - I thought the JLP effort this year is disappointing. Have to admit I'm not an animal lover - especially dogs - sorry.
me too, on the don't get it team ,don't like boxer dogs ,so that's not a good start ,also I'm a cynical old misery guts
Can't agree. Think last year was a really poor effort and this year is marginally better but still not great. They're trying to push the boxer dog like they did with the penguin (which was a fantastic marketing play) but it won't get the cut through at all because he isn't involved enough. I'd like to know who's going to explain to kids why Santa didn't deliver the trampoline .................
You don't get it? Seriously? I agree about it being too early to promote Christmas but there's nothing we can do to stop them. I try to ignore it until the middle of December but that's impossible this year because I've recently started working for M&S and they are as bad as the rest! PS. I love boxer dogs. The face on that one in the advert is priceless.
Best not to over analyse it too much. It's an advert and it's entertaining - well I thought it was anyway.
Blimey, Xmas has changed...I used to look forward to a few top notch films and the Morecambe and Wise special...now it's feckin corporate advertising!!!
So John Lewis are saying there's no such thing as Father Christmas kids. It's dad who hides the presents.
john lewis was the first store I got taken to,to see Santa, can still see him in my minds eye a proper big white beard and red suit, gave me an army set ,remember thinking Wow!!,what a great present Santa, no boxer dog involved at all, just a boxer soldiers #bubum
