People hoping the board dont sell key Players in January but keep them and strengthen

Would people blame the board if all key players left but they didnt have no choice as there release clause (if they have one) in contract is met?

To be honest I don't think there will be many transfers happening in January this season, maybe some of our fringe may go

The difficulty in getting rid of fringe players or players who don't seem to be VI's immediate preference is one of contract length. It's a positive for good players with increasing value to be on 3 and 4 year deals, but its a big negative for the ones you want to get rid of or just don't work out.

Schmidt is a prime example. Nobody is going to pay anywhere near what we paid and nobody is going to match what we are paying him. We either have the choice of paying his contract off (expensive over such along period), subsidising his exit for a new club (loan or sold) or he sits there for 3 years not playing football but picking up money we'd ideally like to pay someone else who would have a bigger impact on the team.
