If Toney should feel hard done by, what about Woodrow?

I think Wilson is the better player and should be above Toney in the reckoning. However, with his injury record, I probably would’ve taken Toney too yeah.

I’d have taken him but who would you have left out. Rashford ?

Yes rashford. The only english man to score more pl goals this season than toney is kane. But when you playing for a unfashionable club like brentford you often struggle to get England call ups.

Only kanes scored more pl goals this season as a english man his games really come a long way never been a massive fan of wilson but for me id have left rashford at home.

If he had been playing at spurs, arsenal or even newcastle or everton he would have been picked.

I think it’s more the betting stuff in this case. Though had he been playing for Man Utd that may have been overlooked. I’d play a fit Wilson over Toney. Trouble is Wilson’s legs are made of biscuit or something as he can’t go more than half a dozen games without injury.

Rashford has done well this season though and can play either side of a centre forward too, whereas Toney can only really play centrally.

On form, Sterling has struggled this season but again, is a bit more versatile. He’s performed for England over the last couple of years too.

Well time will tell rashfords got 4 in a top 4 side toneys got 10 is it after todays goal? In a brentford team.
I can see the logic in taking sterling done well for England past few seasons.

But time will tell im not expecting much with southgates tactics or his selection. Taking philips whos been injured most of this season and played only 1 game for city baffled me aswell.

I would have taken him over Wilson. Toney has more years left & would have benefitted from a major tournament. & would have been one guaranteed penalty against the Germans.. :)

Not often I watch Prem matches but Pinnock was awesome for Brentford, Toney real handful, 2goals , makes Gareths lack of selection look a bit daft .

I think Southgates future lies in politics. Whilst we’re all talking about Toney not being picked, we’re not talking about Maguire actually going!

Well we are also talking about the bizarre decision to take Philips. And the lack of left back cover.
I can see why Maguire is going - I wouldnt have taken him but its not as daft as taking Philips

If Toney wasn't in trouble he still wouldn't have got a call up - we evidenced this by calling him up last international break to see how hed cope with international football... only to leave him on bench for it all.
