Due to fly over the UK in about 5 minutes from the South West https://www.meteorwatch.org/iss-space-station-passes-uk-spring-2019/ if its clear its worth stepping outside for a look - saw it yesterday and its quite easy to spot
me and our gurty spend every summer in and around the french, swiss italian alps, we watch the space station most nights because there is no light pollution but the space station isnt the only man made object flying around up there, the sheer amount of satelites traveling in all directions is staggering, the skies are so clear you can spend hours tilted back on a sun lounger gawping up, it really is amazing and i can understand why folk get hooked on sky watchin. BTW, your Doc was my metalwork teacher ;-)
I do a lot of long distance walking in remote areas in the summer, and I often end up sleeping outside in good weather. I concur with others, the sky is full of objects moving about in all directions, both natural and man made. It's amazing how many "new" stars you can see up there, when there's no artificial light around. It truly is possible to lie there and stare upwards for hours.
I like to have a chill out in the garden in Summer, always end up watching satellites if its night time. I also keep a look out for meteor shower updates via SkyWalk app
