Blaming and verbally abusing individuals and their Grandma within the club for this sh.1t show of a season let's direct our frustrations anger call it what you want .....at the main culprit.... Nobody else to blame but Conway .
disagree. Conway is accountable for many things wrong with the club, but he wasn't responsible for the cowardly surrender of a performance today, from players who will be telling their agents they're too good for league 1
No chance. Conway is to blame, but so are the other shocking board members, the out of their depth coaching team, the gutless players. A shambles from top to bottom.
But that's completely wrong. He's more visible that the other members of the consortium that own the Barnsley FC, but he's only one part of those making the decisions, and even then, I think that's barking up the wrong tree. The people who everyone believe own Barnsley FC don't have any money. I don't mean they live in a terraced house and struggle to pay the bills, but they don't have the kind of money to buy football clubs. It's not that they're not billionaires, they're even not millionaires. They're employees of a company that invest rich people's money in football clubs. We happen to be one of them.
All roads lead back to Paul Conway. Some people seem to have forgotten he was acting CEO in one of the most disastrous summers this club has ever had.
They're saying you can't solely blame him and you can't. Chien and grace hung are to blame as well along with James. They aren't blameless at all but I think con way has to take the largest blame by a long way.
The largest holding in BFC investments (The 100% owner of Barnsley football club) is Chien Lee. Conway is the face of the owners but the wealth and major shareholder is Mr Lee. Conway had sold Lee and other investors this notion that european football is the next big thing and their data driven approach gives them a massive advantage. Turns out it doesn’t, their approach has failed and they need an exit without frightening off other investors in the future. He has raised $75m in his counter press spac so I think he’ll fancy moving on from his failure at BFC.
The not so funny thing is that it does give them an advantage. What makes a completely balls up of the whole thing is when Calamity Conway thinks he’s knows better than the data driven approach. The reason I don’t blame the owners as a group is because so many individual decisions have ruined this season for us. I don’t fall out with our model, or with being sustainable and trading players, but I do fall out with Paul Conway’s ability as a CEO.
Losses since taking over of over £12m is not sustainable. Their model is not working unless Jasper Moon turns out to be the new John Stones
But given that we're neither likely to suddenly find 10,000 extra fans or new owners who are able to heavily subsidise the club within the bounds of FFP the only way to compete at Championship level IS to find the next John Stones. Alongside that has to run competent ownership. Unfortunately the current lot are world class at incompetence and indifference.
10000 fans adds about £2.5m. The hole they are in needs a significant change of their operating model.
He definitely didnt find oulare or iseka via a data driven approach in the summer oulare had played less games than and carrol in the past 5 years and iseka was hardly prolific.
I blame the players and coach as much as the owners! Simply disgraceful attitude. I would be embarrassed to be collecting my wage. Britain’s comments the past few week show how much they have given up ! The club is rotten to the core!
