it is possible to fk up so badly for so long! We had a good young team that was showing great promise for so long and yet nobody thought to offer improved contracts staggered over a period of time that would have stopped the mass exodus (naeivity, arrogance or stupidity?) Even then to think we could just go out and buy another set of youngsters and go on as before beggars belief, especially when you look at the unbalanced squad we ended up with.( Thats not a pop at Pat Cryne btw because in view of his personal circumstances I would assume he relied mainly on other people doing their job correctly) We get new owners who then back PH to get players in during the January window, he signed some ( not for all the positions needed) presumably a lot do with what he the manager pitched, he then promptly fks off!! How must that lot have felt? We then bring in an unproven manager from abroad with no experience of English football. Now I have no idea how he will pan out over time ( if he gets that time) but I do know if and when we go down we will be virtually starting again (again!), and although hopefully we will rise again its a massive gamble whereas a stopgap bit of firefighting would have gained us the measly few points we would have needed to secure a place in the Championship AND THEN start again! I know Jose has done some weird stuff but thats no excuse for professional footballers not being able to do their job properly ie powderpuff tackling, giving opposition forwards the run of our penalty area and not being able to get a shot on target, especially at times when it looked harder to miss!
The thing that gets me is we are all being asked to get our season tickets bought ready for next season most likely in league 1 now so we can go watch a team cobbled together from lower league players. I just hope this new regime can act in the summer to halt this decline and stop the rot because if not we could well be looking at a year of struggle again. We couldn't attract players in January so what chance are we going to have in the summer to get decent players in who can turn things around?
I would assume the same , if you are the gaffer & you are seriously ill then you would expect your staff to take up the mantle & run the job . I do not know what you do for a living but every where I worked , if someone was off ill , then the job would not stop , it would carry on with other employees acting up or covering during such absence
Hmmmm, not convinced personally, need 2 full backs and 2 centre mid and a good striker and a keeper 6 new first teamers at least for me.
Last time Bradshaw was in L1 he got 20 odd goals. Moore got 13 in 20. Hammill was the best player on the division other than Hourihane. Moncur got 10+ goals. Even Davies was more than competent. With a couple of additions we will be just as dominant as Wigan or Blackburn. Look At Rotherham an awful team sold their best player still pissed the play offs.
GK: Walton Davies Defence: pinilios Jackson Lindsey Pinnock Cavare McCarthy Pearson Midfield: Isgrove Mcgheeghan Potts Mowatt Moncur Mallan Forwards: Thiam Bradshaw Moore Might be wrong but when loans and contracts are up that's what we will be left with before we add to the squad over the summer. Looks the basis of a team capable of doing well in league 1....
