No it wasn't by 'all' of us, but it was the majority to be honest. And I think those who did it last season, and still keep doing it now, should be ashamed of themselves. Collins was dealt a rotten hand, but he got the best he could out of them, and he can take the credit for us getting to the Play offs.
Nope it's the owners! We've gone exactly where since they took over? Do you really wanna go over why Collins is a **** manager? Clarke is a solid at best manager. Problem is upstairs.
Neill Collins was ‘hounded out’ after going on a run of one win in eight games, including five defeats, at the business end of the season. He had completely lost the plot. That 7-0 didn’t reflect that game completely whatsoever - but does highlight how poor our finishing is now in comparison. Tonight was shocking for 25 minutes but actually ok afterwards. We are one or two players in the eleven form a more than decent side - if we stick to a back four. Clarke will get a decent run. And he deserves it - let’s be honest this squad currently is woefully short of what Collins had last season; at least in forward areas. I did want Collins to be removed - though the timing was bizarre, as I conceded to you and others at the time. Clarke got the selection wrong tonight but he had the humility and balls to change it and influenced how the game went from there hugely. I don’t blame him for us being too toothless in the final third to get the point the performance from 2-0 down probably warranted. We got on the front foot and showed more intent in an hour tonight than we did in the majority of last season - probably the port vale game excepted which admittedly was a day where everything went our way and we attacked with freedom and looked dangerous. It didn’t last, in fact even when getting results we looked tepid and bored the pants off the people who still turned up. Me included. We lost tonight - but did so having played poorly for twenty minutes, given a 2-0 head start, and then looking markedly better after a bold early switch. There’s plenty to take away from the game and be optimistic about - especially if the troops are strengthened in the coming weeks and you’d have to think they will be.
