I presume we're ready to go with the fake 'Scab, Scab, Scab' etc crowd noise turned up to full volume.

Won't be toxic as far as I am concerned. I'll be in the pub having Sunday lunch for the first time in 6 months.

Might make it back for the second half.

To be fair I think it’s incredible that we still have even an improbable chance to survive.

True enough. For some time earlier in the season, many were talking about record low points total.

Is there a senario where 4 points might be enough or do we definitely need all 6

All teams still have a chance to survive don't they?

Regardless of the result tomorrow I just hope the idiots stay off the pitch at full time so the players can come back out and show their appreciation to the fans for the season just gone.

No, we need 6. 4th bottom has 48. We have 43. Even if Wigan's point deductions come into play, it doesn't change the fact that the survival line has 48 points, it would just push Luton out of the bottom 3, who also have 48 points, so nothing changes.

Even if Wednesday were also to be told that they are being given 12 points, it would mean that they would be 23rd, Hull 22nd and Wigan out of the bottom 3 on 46. But if Wigan's points deduction wouldn't relegate them, it won't be applied anyway and carry over to next year. So 4th bottom is still 48 pts.

No way out. We need 2 wins.

5 points behind safety, so 2 wins required

Just realised that's wrong because if Wednesday were to be given 12 pts as well, and none of Hull, Wednesday Or Wigan were to get anything from their last game, then 4 pts would push us above Wigan and relegate them so their pts deduction would apply.

So yes, there is 1 scenario where 4 pts would do. But it relies on Wednesday being given 12 points deduction this week.

I’m on an Alicante-bound plane tomorrow so am missing the pleasure of watching it but I should catch some of the commentary after landing. It’s sort of getting to the point of doesn’t really matter now. Left ourselves too much to do

This isn't true. The only instance the points deduction is not applied is if they were relegated anyway without the deduction.

But if the points deduction was applied this year and had no effect on their standing then it is no punishment at all.

The very reason it hasn't yet been applied is to wait and see if it would result in their relegation. If it won't then there is no point in it, and they will instead start next season on -12

No, just read up on it. You are right. It would be applied this season regardless. So if it does not result in relegation then it will be pointless.

It will affect their final position. Not a great punishment, but that’s the punishment.

Trust me, the only time the points deduction is not applied is if they go down anyway. Unless they successfully appeal.

The punishment is 12 points deducted, not automatic relegation. The only reason there's the caveat for if they're in the relegation zone already is to stop clubs becoming insolvent early to get the points deduction in a season when it wouldn't matter because they're already down. Leeds did it, that's why the rule was brought in

You don’t get extra money in Championship for placements like you do in PL, so unfortunately DSL is right Wigan’s -12 if they stay up will have had no effect. Having said that credit has to go to Wigan for clawing that back to stay safe(if they do).
The real punishment will be if there is a fire sale at the club in the Summer, but even that if someone comes in with money and cancels it all out....
It’s part of reason I think should be ongoing embargo on transfers for period of time.
