A few quotes from one of the Villa forums. "Its Barnsley. They've lost their last 2 games to Reading 2-0 and Brighton 2-0. 2-0 Villa" "It's Barnsley ffs we have to win". "No idea but can't think there'll be many. From what I've heard we'll have over 5k there, Barnsley's north stand only holds 6k and the ground only around 23k in total. So a good proportion will be Villa". Thing is, I worked in Birmingham for a couple of years, back in the early 90s, when Villa were actually close to winning the title. They were the most passionless bunch of people I have ever come across. The Birmingham fans, and the West Brom fans beat them hands down for the way they got behind their clubs. Hope we stuff 'em.
Their attitude doesn't surprise me. Every team we play patronises or insults us on their forums. Did they mention our west stand, or pit head winding gear? Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Not yet, but according to one of their fans we've lost our last 3 games 4-0; 2-0 and 2-0. Here's me thinking that we've only failed to score in one game all season.
They're not only getting the scores wrong, but making out that Reading and Brighton are playing like Rotherham and Cardiff.
Villa have only won one this season and finished last season with the worst points total in premiership history. You wouldn't think they would be so arrogant hope we hammer em and di Mateo gets sacked day after
Haha, if ever a set of fans needn't be cocky it's Aston Villa supporters. The abomination that was their side last season had the worst attitude I'd ever seen in football. A shambolic outift without a care in the world as they stumbled from one passionless defeat to the next. After considerable recruitment they're still looking rank average. Of course they should beat us and indeed they might, but perhaps they ought to look at their own over-paid, under-achieving players before sneering at other smaller sides. Hope we beat em, but I see a score draw to be honest. And I agree with the sentiments above, Birmingham fans win hands down in the pasison stakes and I'm not even a fan of theirs.

It's Aston Villa. teams like this should be getting pumped 3,4,5 nil. If we can't win these types of teams then we are in trouble.
I went to that game with an Oldham fan, (who is sadly no longer with us, RIP Damien). We both worked in Birmingham at the same time so agreed to meet up. My memory is after we took the lead we held on for dear life. They did everything but score. When we got outside the ground, Damien told me that he'd been to 4 other Villa games that season and he's not seen them score. He didn't want to tell me in case he jinxed it. Thought we might stay up after that, but alas no.
Absolutely. We've got to be beating 'the likes of Villa and other hopeless cases such as Leeds' otherwise we've no chance of success.
I went. We were the better side in the first-half. Should have been 2-0 up, but Bosnich denied Barnard just before half-time. Second-half we were pushed back summat chronic. Like Anfield repeated. But like that day in Liverpool, we saw them off and won 1-0 thanks to Wardy. We then beat Soton 4-3 and made it three successive wins and I thought we'd stay up. Unfortunately, next game was Liverpool at Oakwell.......
Like of Villa and Leeds should be easy games for us, should be picking up 6 point minimum over the next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hadn't John Gregory just joined them as manager and I think was unbeaten until that game. My memories of him are that his eyes are too close together, like a sh*thouse rat....
