Seeing that Duff is apparently out of the Blackpool gig I would have thought the decks would be clear to dive in and get him.I'm beginning to think there could be a curved ball with somebody impressing the board more so than Duff.Although hes been an outsider in the betting Jonathan Woodgate is still in the bookies minds and hes shortened a tad to 16/1.If I was to have a fiver bet I'd put mine on Woodgate ,whos your fiver on?

I flagged up Woodgate a month back. Odds were longer then!

I thought Duff was on a coaching course last week? Is it possible that this has delayed any announcement?
I'm not a betting man. It's my personal opinion that it'll be Duff.

And Blackpool do seem to be looking elsewhere. So unless he decided to stay at Cheltenham, the way seems clear.

I didn't know that.In fairness Duff ticks all the boxes and I'd love him to takeover at Oakwell.

That, coupled with the us having to sort out compensation with Cheltenham, contracts, potential backroom staff etc. I fancy Duff to be appointed early this week.

I don't have a favourite for the position, but Duff certainly seems an appropriate option.

I saw a short video of him a couple of weeks ago about his playing and managerial career so far.The thing that struck me is that he as a stature about him that I can see both players and supporters having respect for him.

No one would ever be a universally popular appointment. But I'm sure Duff would have the majority of the fan behind him. And given time to get... What has been a 5'hit show... Back on the road

Except it wasn’t when we appointed Schopp, Stendel and Morais? Don’t really remember much of a delay on Poya, as I think Laufman had three games in charge which is probably about average when you have midweek games, and with Struber he was our #1 target and we took our time landing him - which paid off really.

Can’t remember thinking we were being slow with Val either but could be wrong.

Wasn't tomorrow the date they said they wanted somebody in for ,maybe it's like players out on loan or on the bench they get better the longer it goes on . I hope its sorted this week whoever it is feet under the table before the full squad returns next week.

Maybe the issue is not that he is on a course, but the fact that his wife allegedly doesn't fancy the move north? Who knows, it's all just speculation.
