Given we've more STH than the permitted 4000 spectators (if and when we get to Tier 1) and away supporters will, I guess, not be allowed, I wonder if iFollow will still broadcast matches to home STH and sell to away supporters.
I would expect that iFollow access will still be available for the home fans that aren't successful. Will be a nightmare to administer that lot though. iFollow will also be available for everyone else that wants to watch (same as under normal conditions)
Communication on the way forward will be forthcoming when we know more. We weren’t given a heads up on anything yesterday, we learn at the same time as you do. There was no financial bailout coming from the government so this is their way of getting out of it. We aren’t lucky like Rugby Union etc.
Cheers Whitey, will be a proper ball-ache to manage for the club. I suspect there will be a north/south tier divide, making crowds a moot point.
Won't be a problem, Barnsley won't be in tier 1 for the rest of the season. We might eventually sneak into tier 2 but i'd say the chances were only slim.
We’ve somehow managed to cope for the last nine months or whatever, with a million and one challenges. We’ll be reight. But I think you’re right. I expect Yorkshire will be in the highest tier initially. I feel like normality is on its way though over the next six months or so. No thanks to the government I might add. We should have been out of the woods months ago, like other nations. But Corbyn.
The mass testing of Liverpool that has seen cases drop a lot is going to be brought in to tier 3 areas. So if people make the effort to go for a test then there is every chance of reaching tier 1, especially quicker than not doing so.
Yeah but Tory Boys mates wouldn’t have made millions by putting in tenders they could never hope to fulfil before giving the money to real suppliers .
Not clear how much the drop in cases is down to mass testing vs tier 3 restrictions then lockdown. They've had a problem with getting people from poorer areas to get tested, probably because they can't get support if they have to take two weeks off work to isolate. A problem that the Government have stubbornly refused to address. Instead, going for a headline grabber of support for people already on universal credit, rather than actually doing the work to get the support to people who need it. Mass testing itself, is just a headline grabber to avoid doing the work to fix contact tracing
You obviously have a better idea than me but I thought I read that whilst attendance was restricted all games would be on iFollow so allowing just 2000 or 4000 into a game and presumably no away fans means the iFollow would still be available for everyone else. To do anything else is just stupid And as a PS if I was denied any way of viewing a game I had paid a season ticket to see - eg iFollow stops for 3pm Saturday games Id be wanting some money back. I would expect iFollow to carry on pretty much unchanged until March. As that is the logical thing to do I am doubtless going to be disappointed
