From a company called let's say world recycling ltd (it wasn't that but I can't remember the exact name)
An hour later I got a call from a company called world collections "hi I'm aware you've been in an accident"

As I say the names aren't correct but the idea is that they were two very similar sounding names.

The way I see it is there's three possibilities. 1. It's a coincidence. 2. Some dodgy company is somehow monitoring the calls and then making scam calls. 3. The recycling company is using/selling data for dodgy purposes.

Ring back and ask. GDPR should prevent them passing details on without your permission though.

I just blocked both numbers it's not worth the hassle. They're stupid anyway because the chances of me having had an accident and going along with their idea of claiming, and winning is so small and for that they've bblown a contract worth around £10k a year.

    Coincidence

the spam companies use auto diallers, much cheaper and more efficient than paying for leads.
