I appreciate the players didn’t play well tonight

But the new coach hasn’t given them a chance with that setup.
    Bizarre choice of players
    Bizarre tactics
Against a team like Cardiff you need to play the ball to feet, quickly. You do not hoof it up to a 5ft 5 striker
Any idiot such as myself can see that
    Odd that Kane didn’t play.

Let’s hope there aren’t too many repeats if tonight.

    you reds.

It was a suicide mission for the poor b@stards. At least they looked better after the break, until chopper Helik gave away the pen. Irrelevant really, we wouldn’t have scored if we’d played all week.

It was a wayward pass from Anderson that put him in that position in the first place .
Back to his old habit of hit and hope passes back into his own half .

Played better when odour came on and he changed it up but then helik did a suicide tackle and that was it.

I’m still finding it bizarre that we have a 1.25 million midfielder on the bench who can’t get a look in and I’m not suggesting just because of the price tag he should be playing but for a club like Barnsley it just doesn’t seem right.

Was he a last minute panic buy to shut up the fans? Must admit he pinged the ball about from deep v Stoke away but that isn't what we signed him for.

It’s a strange one and it’s not like we have an abundance of riches in the squad maybe that 1.25 million should have been spent on a striker.

Isn't Kane meant to be a goal-scoring midfielder? He should be starting.

We've got 5 pretty poor strikers, 4 of them started, one at fk*cing wing back, and we brought another one on. Miller, who held the ball up pretty well at the weekend, didn't get a shot. We were overrun in midfield and yet the most expensive midfield player we've ever signed sat it out on the bench. I have never before seen the level of incompetence from a Barnsley manager that I saw tonight. It was staggering.

Someone will come along to tell me I've got that wrong, but I can't think of one.

Tactics were very odd. Majority praised the fact that he got the ball forward quicker against Watford and qpr. However, he got it wrong tonight. Not a team you try playing over the top against, especially considering the players at our disposal.

Well you did go on to posture that we had a staggeringly good midfield pretty recently.

Let's hope they're keen on astronomy, cos all they see is a round whirling object passing by them up in the sky which may or may not have something to do with their existence on earth.

I still that believe that, unfortunately we're playing 4 **** forwards.

Well we're not playing to our midfield strength, given the state of our forwards.

Whereas we were before, without a midfield bypass. And it looked sweeter too. Even if the result mostly ended up the same

Irrespective of who played or where, the inability to string together more than a couple of passes was criminal tonight and a big factor in the defeat.
Can't believe some of the comments regarding the manager, he's only had three games for fks sake, he inherited a paper thin squad with way too many similar players to start with, this has since been thinned even further with injuries to key players, so his options are limited.
Our weaknesses against big sides are already known and proved true again, but what does he do try the same old or try something different? either way he gets attacked by some if it goes wrong.
At least give the poor chuff a chance!

What do you think it was that he tried tonight that was "different"?

What influence does Murray and our other coaches have over the decisions that Val makes.?
Surely because he only came in before the QPR game, you would think that they have been giving
him their advice as to who to play against any particular opponent.?

according to some , players in weird positions with baffling tactics.
All I am saying is , he has limited options with too many similar players and also a lack of height and physical presence etc.
He also has to learn as he goes along in match situations rather than friendlies.
He was praised for the first couple of performances and now seems to be getting hammered after a poor performance. Now I'm not saying you shouldn't be allowed to criticise poor performances, you should, (I already said the passing in general was diabolical) but some of the comments on here are well typical bbs.
All I'm saying is it is too early to form an opinion either way but at this early stage in his tenure at least positivity is helpful, negativity helps nothing, hence the give the poor fker a chance comment.
